12 Easy Ways To Elevate Your Look

The cost-per-wear on these accessories will be amazing

Felicity Robinson

If you believe the internet, Coco Chanel was the source of many bon mots about fashion. “Accessories are what makes or marks a woman,” she said, allegedly. (She also said, “Before you leave the house, look in the mirror and take at least one thing off,” which as a maximalist I choose to ignore.)

But there’s little doubt accessories have the power to elevate even the simplest look. And, unlike a statement skirt or jacket, they have the chameleon ability to work with anything (definitely a plus in these straightened times).

You could wear the classic Oroton belt, below, or ice-blue Albus Lumen scarf with almost any item in your wardrobe – and happily, both are on sale. Lucy Folk’s friendship band, with its grown-up gold plate, is a perfect match for a great watch, or layered with a couple of delicate bracelets. And Reliquia’s shoulder-grazing earrings would add a note of drama to any combination of sweater and jeans.

Here, our shopping editor Tara Morris, shares her pick of the best accessories to buy now.
