For the longest time, the fashion world has been obsessed with gold jewellery. Light-as-a-whisper gold chains peeking out from necklines. Battered bangles stacked on arms. Jewel-studded rings and earrings that catch the light.
But the fashion gods are rarely satisfied for long, and after years of intricate, antique-inspired gold jewellery, there’s something refreshingly clean and simple about sculptural, statement pieces.
Or at least that’s what jewellery designers must be thinking, given the new wave of sleek and minimalist bracelets, necklaces and rings appearing in collections right now.

“It’s very reminiscent of the ‘90s – lots of silver, very sculptural. It’s a new way to do statement jewellery without being too decorative.”
