To the list of positive developments to come from the corona crisis – like proper neighbourliness and mandated nights in – we’d like to add a new appreciation for sweatshirts.
They’re comfortable, warm and stylish – and when we eventually venture out of our houses, we plan to keep wearing them everywhere. Tara, our shopping editor, likes to wear her hoodies under a trench, which is very Scandi cool. I have my eye on the REMAIN Birger Christensen yellow sweat, below, that has shoulder pads and will look excellent with a statement earring and jeans. Very posh.
“I also love Entireworld’s sweatshirt with matching trackies,” says Tara, adding that a visit to their website is a weird treat. When the US brand launched last year, actor Kirsten Dunst starred in an Instagram campaign that featured a video of her on a seesaw with a green blob called Muboo.
Back in the real world, Tara recommends men’s sweatshirts from Uniqlo and End for their narrow fit and longer length. Also, if you throw them in the dryer by ‘accident’ they’ve got room for shrinkage.
This week she’s selected a range of sweats you can wear with leggings at home or ‘out-out ‘ (once we’re allowed out) with a tailored trouser and a heel. Happy (online) shopping.
And for sweatshirts over $150?
We love Sporty & Rich (below), Ragdoll, The Pangaia and Aries. Plus, there are some brilliant bargains to be at Australian brands like Lee Matthews and Bassike, who are offering up to 30% off.
