Florals in spring? Groundbreaking, as Miranda Priestly would say.
But there is something rather lovely about wearing florals and rosettes in winter, when they deliver an altogether more unexpected and gothic dramatic touch.
This season, florals and rosettes are the easiest way to upgrade your outfit and add an instant embellishment. A rosette affixed to a delicate sandal or silk dress delivers a feminine flourish. Sprinkling floral sequins over a shell top transforms a wardrobe staple into a statement piece. An oversized silk rosette atop a plain linen top creates a sculptural silhouette.
“It’s a trend you can easily play with without having to change up your wardrobe,” says Lucy Wood, who compiled this edit and styled the hero shot. “Just slip in one piece when you’re needing something a little extra.”
Her only word of advice? Don’t overdo it. “I’d pair each of these pieces with modern, relaxed items rather than anything too ornate or floral.”
