One of the highlights of the Australian fashion calendar, Afterpay Australian Fashion Week gives labels the chance to show their creativity to international and local buyers, and consumers.
But just as important as the runways is the streetstyle, where the consummately stylish fashion crowd display its take on the latest trends. Here, we’ve rounded up some of the best.
Mini skirts
Despite the autumnal chill, mini skirts were a significant streetstyle trend, either with bare legs and a heel, or ankle boots and a long coat for a more demure look.
Denim, every way
Double denim continues to be a strong look (we loved this chic rosette mini), along with wide-leg bootcuts providing a 90s throwback.
Sheer
Ok, so we might not be wearing this look to the office, but you can’t beat a sheer dress (with sensible undies) for a night out. A mesh top, paired with a tailored pant, is an easier take.
Super coordinated
Match your top with your pant, or your dress with your best mate’s – or just make sure your entire outfit shouts ‘I took more than five minutes to plan my look’. These pulled-together outfits are the final nail in the coffin of slouchy pandemic dressing, and we’re here for it.
