Fashion has been flirting with the cowboy trend for a while, but thanks to social media and Beyoncé’s new country and western vibe, we’re now firmly in cowboy country.
“Influencers have led the trend for cowboy boots, which were then endorsed by designers,” says PRIMER stylist Lucy Wood, referring to Chloe and Louis Vuitton’s recent collections. “They’re a classic boot, but this time round they’re a lot more minimal and versatile.”
If you do want to wear them with a dress, Wood suggests choosing a block colour, rather than a floral or print, which carries very Sienna-Miller-in-2001 connotations. “I think a single colour feels more modern, or cowboy boots with a straight midi skirt and knit, all in the same tone. It feels very minimalist.”
Khaite and Cos have great boots with a western shape but pared-back stitching, Wood adds. Resale site Depop also has some beautiful options. Here’s our pick.
